12 \\ The Secret Of Interrupting The Pain Of Separation, Divorce, Or Widowhood With Lauri Hogle (Part 2) - Singing Christ’s Hope And The Sovereignty Of God

What if, in the middle of your suffering, whether that’s the result of widowhood, separation, or divorce — or, to be quite honest, any kind of trial you’re going through — you could make a simple choice, and suddenly feel better emotionally as well as physically? It’s pretty remarkable the way God has made us, and today we’re going to be continuing our conversation from last week with Lauri Hogle, and talking about what exactly happens in our minds, bodies, and spirits as we make the choice to interrupt pain and suffering, through singing to God.

Here are just of few of the ways singing aloud to the Lord changes us:

  • Singing brings back the truths about God we already know, when we need them.
  • Singing gives us the words and framework to praise God even when we don’t feel like it!
  • Singing also CHANGES our emotions.  It BECOMES joy in the Lord.
  • Singing helps us take every thought captive in obedience to Christ!
  • Singing the truths of Scripture may be a tool for healing trauma.
  • Psychologists tell us that actively singing aloud lifts depressive moods, eases anxiety, and helps regulate emotions.
  • Singing aloud helps regulate our autonomic nervous system by activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
  • Singing reduces pain and hormonal challenges.
  • Singing helps our immune system.
  • Singing increases our energy!
  • … and so much more!
